Email

The following applies to GRC members only.
Use of your GRC email address

You will likely already have a personal email address (eg john.doe@outlook.com). Your GRC email address (eg john.doe@globerowingclub.co.uk) is different.

Your GRC email address is required for the following:

  1. Sending emails to GRC email groups (eg members@globerowingclub.co.uk).

  2. Viewing the members-only section of the GRC web site.

Communications from GRC will be sent to your GRC email address. However, by arrangement, they can also be sent to your personal email address.

Note: it is not possible to send emails to GRC email groups from your personal email address. However you can send emails to individual GRC email addresses (eg john.doe@globerowingclub.co.uk) from your personal email address.

The password associated with your GRC email address

When your GRC email address is created, a temporary password will be set up. You will then receive an email to your personal email address asking you to immediately change the password.

If you ever forget your GRC email address or password, please contact webmaster@globerowingclub.co.uk.

Receiving emails sent to and sending emails from your GRC email address

There are two ways of doing this:

  • Method A: access GRC email from your web browser. This should work on a tablet, mobile phone, PC or Mac. Please click here to do so. You will have to remember to check for new mails every so often so as not to miss anything.

  • Method B: add an account for your GRC email address to your email client (eg Outlook). Often you can add an account by simply specifying your GRC email address and password. However for some email clients, you may need to follow these additional instructions. Also, Google Mail (through which your GRC email address is provided) doesn’t think that the security of some email clients (eg Outlook) is good enough. When you try and connect, it will therefore give you a bad password error (even if you have specified the password correctly) unless you specified that the security concerns should be overridden – please see here for details.
